This holiday season, remember to support the Lakeview Pantry by donating funds or food items.
The most needed items are:
- Canned fruit (juice/water packed)
- Condiments – mayo, ketchup, etc.
- Cooking oils, salt/pepper, spices
- Toothpaste & toothbrushes
- Fruit Juice (shelf stable)
All non-perishable, unexpired food items are appreciated! Consider donating modest sizes. Several 24oz cans are preferable to one 64oz can for clients to take home.

As the largest food pantry in Chicago, they have served the city’s northside for 46 years. They provide a wide range of nutritious food including fruits, vegetables, protein, milk and dairy products, cereal, and bread.
Their Social Services program offers assistance with public benefit applications, mental health counseling, job search support, as well as referrals to other community resources.

The TBOX 2016 pub crawl is this Saturday, December 10th, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Around 40 of the establishments along Clark Street and Sheffield Avenue will be participating. There will be no parking on Clark from Roscoe to Grace, on Sheffield from Roscoe to Waveland, on Eddy from Seminary to Clark, and on Cornelia from Clark to the alley from 5:00 a.m. Saturday to 4:00 a.m. on Sunday.
TBOX will provide a hotline to be used during the event for any and all issues, concerns, or questions: 773-478-3378. 9-1-1 should be used for all emergency calls. The 19th District will have additional resources and there will be 100 trained security personnel patrolling the streets and alleys during and after the event. Members of the security team will be identifiable by yellow vests that read “Walsh Security.” There will be zero tolerance for public drinking and security personnel will remove TBOX wristbands of unruly patrons. Barricades will be placed to deter patrons from entering alleys and keep them out of the streets. 80 trashcans, 60 portable toilets, one dumpster and 12 cleaning personnel will be stationed throughout the event area.
East Lake View Neighbors (ELVN) is in BEATS 1925 and 23 of the 19th District of the Chicago Police Department.
19th Police District CAPS meetings for the ELVN BEATS are normally held in the 19th Police District Community Room located at 850 W. Addison at 7 PM on the first Wednesday of every even number month.
The next CAPS meeting for the ELVN area is at 7 PM on Wednesday December 7th.
ELVN is normally represented at 19th District CAPS/Beat meetings. You are invited to attend these meetings.
This will also be an opportunity to meet Commander Marc Buslik, the new District Commander of the 19th District. Commander Robert Cesario, our previous District Commander has been reassigned to the Office of Emergency Management and Communications. We thank Commander Cesario for all he has done for the 19th District and wish him well in his new role.
EAST LAKE VIEW NEIGHBORS HOLIDAY PARTY/GENERAL MEETING

At 7:30 p.m., the Board will distribute East Lakeview Neighbors charitable donations to area civic and social service organizations. This will be the only item of business that will be handled at this event.
