Past Oktoberfests

ELVN celebrates each fall with our annual Oktoberfest Pig Roast and Silent Auction fundraiser. In October, 2010 we raised over $19,000, all of which was donated directly back to our neighborhood.  We gave to support Horace Greeley School and Inter-American Magnet School, House of Good Shepherd, Lakeview Food Pantry, and youth programming at Gill Park. Our proceeds are also used to support Officer Appreciation Day at the 23rd District Police Station and to sponsor a public sculpture for the wider community to enjoy.

Neighborhood sculpture, ‘Burst’ by Dusty Folwarczny, (http://www.dustyfolwarczny.com/) on display at Sheridan and Dakin Sts.

We would like to thank our key sponsors for their generous support, including Murphy’s Bleachers, Houndstooth Saloon, Sysco Foods, and Whole Foods. Together, we created an afternoon filled with easy laughter, a great pig roast and active silent auction.

Many local businesses lent their support as well, giving us big auction sellers such as an original episode Script & Photos autographed by the entire cast of NCIS,  an “Opportunity to Shoot the Puck” at a Blackhawks game and an Blackhawks Hockey Stick autographed by 20 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champions!!

Please join us for our 13th Annual Oktoberfest on Sunday, September 11, from 3pm – 7pm at Murphy’s Bleachers. There will be something for everyone including autographed sports memorabilia, Entertainment, Museum & Sports Tickets; Hotel Stays & Cruises,  2012 Rooftop Tickets for Cubs Games, Bar & Restaurant certificates, Artwork & Jewelry, and services and merchandise from many local businesses.
