46th Ward Update –Alderman James Cappleman
- In the middle of budget talks
- Chicago sculpture will be installed at Freemont and Seminary tomorrow
- Traffic study at Grace and Seminary
- Traffic study being done at Dakin and Sheridan, neighbors would like a stop sign at that intersection
- Continuing to pressure CTA to fix lights under the “L”
- 3636 N Lake Shore Drive in front of the 3660 N Lake Shore Drive would like to change the look of the exterior of the proposed building
Question: Who is proposing that we need a stop sign at Sheridan and Dakin? We do not know, but the goal is to slow traffic.
44th Ward Update –Alderman Tunney, Calvin Cottrell
- Street resurfacing going on, keep an eye out for those
- 19th district police strategic plan is under review now and your input is needed
- Grant money from city program is now available, there are a couple weeks to sign up
Question: Will the tax increase be reverted back after this year? Ald. Cappleman is for it to return to pre coronavirus rate. Ald. Tunney, the tax raise is not a forgone conclusion and everyone’s input is very important.

- Thank the residents of East Lakeview almost 80% participation in the ward
- Covid-19 is still not going anywhere for months, must remain vigilant and try to avoid Coronavirus fatigue.
- Next assembly meeting will be in January now, moved because of increase in Covid-19 Cases
- Next Monday there will be a zoom meeting about the Facebook privacy settlement. You could get up to $400 in compensation if you have a Facebook page.
Cubs Update – Heather Way Kitzes
- Cubs book drive going on now, if you drop off books you can get a 20% off to the Cubs store. Spanish books are especially needed for pre-K to 4th graders
Treasurer Report: Aileen Tien
- 32,000 plus currently in bank account
- We are distributing money to charities and hopefully will be going out at the December meeting.

- Needs a special use for a B-3 zoning
3440 N Broadway Rebel Hospitality Seeking rezoning from B-32 to B-33 and Special use for hotel – Gene Kornota, Walt Eckenhoff

- 60 cars parking on site
- Parking for this and project to the north are sharing a single driveway into the property to limit the amount of curb cutting needed.
