Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability meeting on the Criminal Enterprise
The Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability will meet to discuss the Chicago Police Department’s proposed Criminal Enterprise Information System policy. (The Criminal Enterprise Information System is sometimes referred to as “the gang database.”)
The Chicago Police Department has proposed a new policy for collecting and managing information about gang affiliation. The Department has posted the policy on its website and invited public comment. Public comments may be offered until December 7, 2022. Review the draft policy and provide comments on the Chicago Police Department website.
At the Community Commission meeting, the Chicago Police Department and the Office of the Inspector General have been invited to provide information about the proposed policy, and respond to questions from Commissioners.
