Drive-In Flu Shot Event

Good morning,

The offices of Rep. Yoni Pizer, Sen. Sara Feigenholtz, Rep. Ann Williams, MWRD Commissioner Kim Neely DuBuclet, and County Commissioner Bridget Degnen invite you and your organization to participate in our Drive-In Flu Shot event, begin held on Sunday, November 8th at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Center parking lot, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

At the event, participants will be able to queue in their cars to receive a free flu shot, provided they wear a mask or face covering and present their insurance card.

Please share the promotional flyer attached with your newsletter and/or social media audiences, so that we can best promote the event and ensure the most people get vaccinated this flu season!

Understanding the Cycle of Violence, Orders of Protection and Domestic Violence Resources

Hello Community Partner,

This Thursday, October 29 at 5:30 pm, our office will be cohosting Understanding the Cycle of Violence, Orders of Protection and Domestic Violence Resources with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office’s Community Justice Center and State Representative Yoni Pizer. Community partner Apna Ghar will also present at this event.

We encourage you to attend this event and to spread the word to your various clients and partners so that we can continue to spread awareness and resources surrounding domestic violence.

Community Clean & Green

Grab your mask & gloves and join us for a community clean & green event.

Volunteers should meet at the corner of Wilton and Waveland avenues at 9 a.m. Please bring a mask, gloves and any equipment you would like to use. Bags for trash and recycling will be provided. Be sure to wear your Neighborhood Grounds Crew t-shirt, if you have one.

Out of an abundance of caution and to follow health and safety protocols, an RSVP is required to attend this event. Space is limited. All volunteers will be required to wear a mask.

East Lake View Neighbors will host a forum for Illinois House 12th District Candidates on March 3, 2020 at 7:00 at Horace Greeley Elementary School. Dorothy Tucker of CBS 2 Chicago will moderate the forum. Full details are below.

We cannot wait to welcome the neighborhood back to our Third Annual Pumpkin Party! This year, Old Town School of Folk Music will lead a few folksy dance and sing-a-longs, the kiddos can create a clay Halloween character or their very own trick-or-treat bag with Kid Create Studio, visit a range of candy stations such as Fannie May chocolate and Garrett Popcorn, sweets, sours, tootsies, lollipops and more to satisfy every type of sweet tooth. Green City Market will provide a caramel apple station and take-home junior pumpkins, there will be balloon and bubble artists, and lawn games galore.

For those with a later bedtime, stick around for the Halloween movie favorite, Hocus Pocus, on the Gallagher Way video board. Special fall-inspired drinks are available for purchase in the park and blankets are welcome.
